Last time, I covered handgun, submachine gun, battle rifle, and assault rifle additions to the weapons roster. This should cover everything else, with the exception of items (maybe later).
SNIPER RIFLE
Here it is, the AK-47 of sniper rifles. Say what you will about the former Soviet Union, but they knew their stuff when it came to making reliable weapons. Historically, the Dragunov was fielded to increase the range of the average infantry squad, which fits right in with the gameplay of Bad Company 2. What it lacks in range and damage it makes up in fire rate.
SHOTGUN
I know you're thinking, "There are already enough shotguns in the game." Hear me out on this one. Think of it as a hybrid between the super short range full auto shotties and the slow pump actions. Basically, it's the auto shotgun from Left4Dead, only it fires semi-auto like in real life. Technically, it's a Benelli M4 Super 90, but "Super 90" is short and sweet.
MACHINE GUN
Throwing out a curve ball with this one. No, the LSAT isn't the exam you took in high school. Picture an M4 carbine with a box magazine, and you've got a pretty good idea what it looks like. This little guy is currently being tested by the US military as part of a program to develop super lightweight infantry weapons. Not only is the weapon itself light, the ammo is, too. Supposedly, it has minimal recoil even on full auto, so I gave it a boost in accuracy while eschewing damage.
LAUNCHER
There's something about South African weapons.. they're so futuristic-looking and badass. The Milkor MGL is no exception. Basically, this mutha legitimizes grenade spam. Imagine blastin' fools with your 40 mm assault rifle attachment; now make that semi-auto fire with a 6-round magazine. Perfect for clearing buildings or taking out vehicles at close/medium range. It's a nice change of pace for the Engineer, I think.
